Description
PHOSGUARD MICRO is the multi-nutrient grade, a liquid potassium phosphite that carries boron, manganese, molybdenum, and zinc alongside its defence activity. It is designed for crops that show several micronutrient shortfalls at once, correcting them in available form while the systemic phosphite supports the plant’s own defences. Rather than feeding a single element, it restores the enzyme systems, nitrogen metabolism, and growth processes that stall first when a crop comes under stress. It fits foliar and fertigation programmes on high-value horticultural, fruit, and vegetable crops.
Key Benefits
- Stimulates the plant’s own defences. Phosphite primes phytoalexin and phenolic synthesis and cell-wall reinforcement, keeping the crop’s defences active under stress.
- Supports resilience under pathogen pressure. The phosphite is directly unfavourable to organisms such as Phytophthora and the downy mildews, working alongside the induced defence response.
- Corrects several micronutrient deficiencies at once. Boron, manganese, molybdenum, and zinc are supplied together in available form, restoring the enzyme and metabolic functions that falter first under stress.
- Carries a potassium contribution. Potassium supports water regulation and sugar movement alongside the micronutrient correction.
- Reaches the whole plant systemically. Full translocation distributes both the defence activity and the nutrients to new growth.
How It Works
PHOSGUARD MICRO delivers phosphite, the phosphonate ion, which crops absorb quickly and move systemically through both xylem and phloem after a foliar spray or fertigation application. Inside the plant, phosphite acts in two complementary ways that depend on concentration. At higher local concentrations it is directly unfavourable to oomycete organisms such as Phytophthora, Pythium, and the downy mildews, slowing their growth and energy metabolism. At lower concentrations it primes the crop’s own defence system, triggering the synthesis of phytoalexins and other phenolic compounds, reinforcing cell walls with lignin and suberin, and raising the activity of defence-related enzymes. Because it is fully systemic, the protection reaches new growth and tissues the spray never directly contacted.
Alongside the phosphite, this grade carries a balanced package of potassium, boron, manganese, molybdenum, and zinc. Rather than feeding one element, it corrects several micronutrient shortfalls at once in an available form, supporting the enzyme systems, nitrogen metabolism, and growth processes that stall first when a crop is under stress. The micronutrient correction and the systemic defence support work in parallel.
When to Use PHOSGUARD MICRO
PHOSGUARD MICRO suits crops that need defence support and a broad micronutrient correction in the same pass.
- Apply PHOSGUARD MICRO when crops show combined micronutrient deficiencies during periods of stress.
- Use PHOSGUARD MICRO through active growth to keep defence and micronutrient status up together.
- Include PHOSGUARD MICRO in foliar or fertigation programmes on high-value horticultural, fruit, and vegetable crops.
Plants mount their strongest defences when they are healthy and unstressed; when a crop is under pressure those responses slow, which is exactly when systemic support earns its place. Applying ahead of and through high-pressure periods keeps the crop’s defences primed when it cannot fully prime them on its own.
